💾 Data Recovery

How much does data recovery cost?

Most logical recoveries (deleted files, corrupted drives, won't boot) are priced with an upfront cap. Physical damage (clicking, grinding, water damage) is quoted by our cleanroom lab partner before any work begins. Contact us for a free estimate — no obligation.

Can you recover data from a dead hard drive?

If the drive is clicking, grinding, or not spinning, it requires physical repair in a cleanroom. We partner with a certified lab and provide an upfront quote. Success rates are high for physical recoveries, but not guaranteed.

Do I need to bring my whole computer or just the drive?

For best results, bring the entire computer. However, we can work with just the drive if you prefer. Mail-in clients can send the whole system or just the storage device.

How long does data recovery take?

Logical recoveries typically take 2–5 business days. Physical recoveries via our lab partner take 7–14 business days. Rush options are available.

Can you remove ransomware and restore my files?

Yes. We remove active ransomware, decrypt recoverable files (where possible), and restore from backups if available. We also harden your system to prevent reinfection.

My computer is running slow. Do I have a virus?

Not always — slowdowns can be caused by junk files, outdated drivers, or failing hardware. We run a full diagnostic to identify the root cause and recommend the most effective fix.

Will I lose my files during security cleaning?

No. We clean malware without deleting personal files. In severe cases where a full OS reinstall is needed, we back up your data first.

Do you offer ongoing security monitoring?

Yes. We have managed security plans for small businesses and remote workers, including endpoint protection, regular scans, and 24/7 monitoring.

What is the $49 diagnostic fee?

The $49 diagnostic covers a full assessment of your device — hardware testing, malware scan, and recovery feasibility. It is non-refundable but fully credited toward any service you approve. No obligation to proceed.

Are there any hidden fees?

Never. We provide upfront quotes before any work begins. You approve the price in writing. No surprise invoices — ever.

Do you offer discounts for seniors, students, or nonprofits?

Yes. We offer 10% off for seniors (65+), students with valid ID, and registered nonprofits. Contact us for details.

How does remote support work?

We use encrypted remote access tools (ScreenConnect, Zoho Assist). You receive a secure link, click to connect, and grant permission. You can end the session at any time.

Is remote support secure?

Absolutely. All sessions use 256-bit encryption. We never install persistent agents without your consent. Your privacy is protected.

What issues can you fix remotely?

Virus removal, software issues, slow performance, backup setup, and most security problems. Physical hardware failures require in-shop or mail-in service.

Do I have to come to your shop?

No. We offer three convenient options: mail-in (shipping from anywhere), local drop-off by appointment, or remote support from your home or office.

How do I mail in my device?

Contact us for shipping instructions. Pack your device securely, include a note with your name, contact info, and issue description. We'll confirm receipt and begin diagnostic within 24 hours.

What if I need my computer back urgently?

We offer expedited service for an additional fee. Turnaround times depend on the issue — call us to discuss your deadline.

Do you work on Macs or just Windows PCs?

Both! We support Windows, macOS, Linux, and even some mobile devices for data recovery. No problem at all.
